FAQS

Your Questions Answered

What can I expect during my first treatment?

Your practitioner will make note of your medical history and any medication you are currently on.  It is always useful to bring up to date medication information such as a repeat prescription form to your appointment.

Once you have told your practitioner the reason for your visit, they will explain and agree with you an appropriate treatment plan for your visit and any future appointments you may need.

If you are having a treatment on your toenails, please ensure any nail polish is removed prior to treatment as we may not be able to cut nails with polish applied.

How long are appointments?

For a First Visit or Routine appointment, you should allow 30 minutes.  Follow up appointment times may vary depending on your treatment plan going forward.

How can I pay?

We accept payment from all major credit and debit cards, including AMEX and we accept cash, but not cheques.  We do not offer credit.

I have private health insurance.  Can I use this at Chelmer Footcare?

The answer may differ from one insurance company to another.  Before booking an appointment, please check with your provider that your appointment type is included in your cover and that the practitioners credentials are listed with your provider.  Some policies will only process a claim if the treatment was carried out by a Podiatrist who is on the HCPC register.  All Podiatrists at Chelmer Footcare are HCPC Registered.

We are only able to issue receipts for the practitioner who you were treated by.

How can I book an appointment?

You can call our reception team Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, or book online 24 hours a day.  If you are booking online on behalf of someone else, please insure it the the details of the person attending the appointment and not yourself which are submitted.  If you register with an email address and/or a mobile number, you will receive a reminder for your appointment 5 and 2 days prior.

Do you treat children?

Yes, we do treat children for a number of complaints such as verrucas, ingrown nails and biomechanics.  Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times throughout the treatment.

Can I cancel my appointment?

If you cancel your appointment 24 hours or more before your appointment date, there will be no charge. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice , you may incur a late cancellation or missed appointment charge of the treatment fee at the practitioners discretion.

Nail surgery appointments require 3 days cancellation notice or a charge may be incurred.
