A MESSAGE TO ALL PATIENTS
The Prime Minister has outlined new measures to be introduced from Thursday 5th November 2020. As healthcare workers, we all have a responsibility to ensure that patients health remains our priority. We are continuing to follow our governing body guidelines and Chelmer Footcare will remain OPEN for ALL patients as we are classed as essential. We would however urge patients not to unnecessarily leave their homes and to visit us only if it is essential to their general health and well-being.

Initially set up by Podiatrist Paul Little and serving the local community for over 18 years, Chelmer Footcare is a friendly and professional clinic offering advice on all areas of foot care and treatments to foot conditions including skin, nail and joint problems. We can advise on and treat diabetes related foot problems. Specialist advice is also offered on many types of sporting footwear and their fitting and modification. Minor surgical procedures can be carried out under local anaesthesia for curative treatment of problems such as in-growing toenails.
We offer onsite parking and are on regular bus routes to and from Chelmsford, South Woodham Ferrers, Maldon, Danbury and Galleywood (routes 45, 36, 31). All treatment rooms are on the ground floor and are fully accessible for less mobile patients and wheelchair users.
All Chiropodists/Podiatrists at Chelmer Footcare are HCPC Registered and have undertaken a 3 year Honours Degree at a recognised school. A series of professional examinations set in both practical and theoretical disciplines are required. Also, 30 hours of continued professional development training has to be completed every year to keep up to date. This means that Registered Chiropodists operate under the highest standards and ethical guidelines.
All Foot Health Practitioners at Chelmer Footcare have studied at the SMAE Institute, one of the leading Foot Health Colleges in the UK and credited by Oxford Brookes University. Foot Health Practitioners are trained and qualified to treat a number of foot related conditions and are encouraged to complete continued professional development training. Although a Foot Health Practitioner is not a Chiropodist/Podiatrist, as a fully insured member of the British Association of Foot Health Professionals, they are bound by a Code of Ethics, set out by the association, and provide a professional service to all patients, focussing on hygiene, safety and comfort.
All practitioners are First aid trained in emergency medical procedures.
